Children's Art Exhibit Opening
Thursday, June 19, 2008, 9am to 1pm
The Little Tykes Gallery presents the artwork of The Multicultural Neighborhood Youth Network Program/Volunteers of American Lighthouse Youth Program Collaboration.  The exhibit features work of young artists who participated in 1st Annual Art in the Park Youth Hands-On Expo.  Angelique Feaster, performing artist, and Wendell Wilson, visual artist, facilitated the program.  Exhibit on display through June.

History of Folk Art
Folk Art Theory & Visual Presentation by Wendell Wilson of the W.R.W. Folk Art Institute

Part of MCCS's Juneteenth Celebration.  Free & open to the public.

Opening Exhibit Reception
June 21, 2008, 1:30pm-3:30pm
Local folk artist Bertha Harris featured.  Exhibit located in the third floor Folk Art gallery.

RRAD Exhibit
Works of the Red River Artists with Disabilities

Extended through June
In recognition of National Mental Health Awareness Month the Multi-Cultural Center of the South will exhibit the works  of the Red River Artists with Disabilities (RRAD).  Red River Artists with Disabilities.  RRAD provides artists who have a disability a venue for marketing and selling their artwork. 
Art that qualifies for the program is original visual art in any media, to include painting, pottery, photography, sculptures, fabrics, collages, woods, metals, stone, etc., but not crafts or ceramics.  Ninety percent of all sales go to the artists. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, May 8th at 6:00pm.  Admission is free and open to the public. 

3rd Annual Taste of Culture Fundraiser
July 19, 2008, 6pm - 9pm
Tickets $35.00 per person
Sample authentic foods and wines from around the world.  Watch live cooking demonstrations by a special guest chef!  Sponsored by Coca-Cola, AEP SWEPCO, Glazer's, & Brookshire's.  Tickets on sale now at the Center and online.
